the design brief was laid out clearly by the client: a double volume living space, 4 bedrooms, reuse as much of the existing structure as possible. local practice park + associates responded with a new construction that replaces the existing house of burnt orange brick. the new mimosa house is a three dimensional composition of planes and boxes rendered in carefully considered materials. every room in the home has a direct connection to the exterior through sliding glass walls and various decks.
