Johnny Morant (b.1982)
My work embraces recollection and recorded images as I re-encounter subjects and distill the essential elements of each interaction.
I attended art school in Bristol and Bournemouth before moving to London and more recently Amsterdam and the Mediterranean. Asked to comment on my last exhibition, I explained that “by playing on the border between clarity and suggestion my work prioritises the intuitive application of paint and aims to describe the viscosity of light and fragility of form.”
