I was born in Italy in 1971 and currently live in the province of Venice. I always thought that art was an important part of my life, but I have never taken lessons from someone or taken courses of any kind to do it: I have always been an autodidact. I started as a painter: acrylic on canvas, mostly abstract paintings, with very vivid colors. I was attracted by the geometry of Mondrian. After that I started to get interested in figurative works. My hero was undoubtedly Hopper, but my skills were limited and therefore the results were not as good. When years later I began to get interested in photography, those elements (composition, light, color) were always there. Changing only the tool. In recent years I have become increasingly focused on street photography where the use of a cell phone in my opinion helps to become invisible in the crowd, therefore it is easier to capture candid moments. For me, photography is to capture exceptional moments in the ordinariness of everyday moments, so I’m constantly seeking the so-called decisive moment.
