来自日本艺术家sachiko祥子喜留図的一组细腻唯美的和风拼布艺术。
Sachiko Gunji, quilt artist and teacher, is well-known in Japan for her mandala quilts. She is a trained artist who majored in art at college and whose work was hung in several important exhibitions while she was a student. In those days she did abstract painting. She liked surrealism. She reacted against traditional Japanese art.
But her attitude changed after her two daughters were born and she was obliged to give up her career in graphic design. In the early 1970’s, she started visiting temples with her daughters. Temple gardens were perfect for her little girls to play in and learn about the beauty nature, and it was there that she discovered mandalas in the dimly lit temple halls. The colors may have been hundreds of years old, but they still had power.
