“Love Yourself”is a series focusing on the relationship between mother and child, and the series is comprised from interviews with women who try to live optimistically in the midst of adversity. I am also a single mother, and sometimes I am also distraught by the weight of living as a mother, or the difficulty of being a single parent in Japan.
But I do believe that, in any situation, mothers who are living frantically in order to protect their children should not be ashamed of themselves. I created this series with the hope that in addition to loving their children, they will also deeply love themselves.
